Overview
- Read an Urban Fantasy book for every letter of the alphabet - NOT just any Fantasy book!!
Urban Fantasy, a subgenre of fantasy, blends magical elements with modern, real-world settings, often set in bustling cities like London, New York, or Paris. It incorporates supernatural beings, hidden magical societies, or secret portals into everyday life. Urban fantasy usually has a darker tone and frequently features protagonists navigating a world where magic and reality collide, with strong elements of mystery, crime-solving, and/or romance (on the background - NOT main focus).
Key distinction from Fantasy: Traditional fantasy immerses readers in otherworldly landscapes, while urban fantasy brings magic into the world we know. Paranormal Romance, Romantasy is NOT Urban Fantasy.
Rules:
- Read an UF book starting with each letter of the alphabet (not including "a" or "the").
- To make it easier with difficult letters - Q X Y Z - each book can be represented by book name with that letter found anywhere in title, series or author name. For example - Midlife Zombie Hunter by Shannon Mayer - can be added to Z.
Bonus: read a book that starts with a number.
For example: The One and Only Crystal Druid by Annette Marie
Bonus: read a book with a colour in the title.
For example: The Black Tide By Keri Arthur
