THE RULES
- Each book must be a novel set predominantly in one country, or be a non-fiction book about that country (or by an author from that country if you're struggling to find a book set there)
- Start with a book set in London
- The country for each subsequent book should be connected to the previous one via a land border or by a sea crossing of no more than 500 miles/800 km **
- The last book should also be set in London*
- You can use countries that no longer exist as long the book is set at that time, e.g. Kairos by Jenny Erpenbeck is set in East Germany and so you could use Germany (or even West Germany) as a different country.
- Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland can be considered to be different countries
BREAKING THE RULES
* You can use the same country twice, but you only get 5 of these return visits (you will have to use one of these for your return to London)
** You can cross a body of water more than 500 miles/800km, but you only get 10 of these long sea crossings. Feel free to use a book set in that body of water as a separate entry
*** If you don't like the rules, just break 'em
