Overview
Do you find yourself reading mainly American or British authors? Do you shy away from translated works of literature? How many of these books from international authors have you read?

(Now, I personally think this list could be better, and I have made some changes and suggestions (bonus books). For example, there are several books by the same author, which to me feels excessive. I'd rather represent a country with different authors. Some countries, like Russia, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan, are also overrepresented, while others are underrepresented. There are 195 countries in the world, meaning there shouldn't be more than 6 books from each country. Considering that some smaller countries have a smaller footprint in the World Literature, I can look pass that, but there are 5 continents (I count North and South America as one continent, as there are so few countries there. Even together there are fewer countries in Americas than other continents. There shouldn't be more or less than 200 books from each continent.)

Valeria Luiselli
Mexican
Now, this is the second book by Valeria Luiselli on this list, and even though I have nothing against her or her books, maybe read something else Mexican, like Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo, Umami by Laia Jufresa, The Body Where I Was Born by Guadalupe Nettel, or Sea Monsters by Chloe Aridjis
