Overview
I love combing through feminist reading lists for books by and about lots of beautiful, brilliant, and badass women. But men are a major part of the equation in creating a world without misogyny, and I’d very much like to encounter more examples of men acting in accordance with feminist principles. So I made a reading challenge about it.
Some ground rules:
- Trans women are women, trans men are men, non-binary people are non-binary. Absolutely no filling a prompt by intentionally misgendering* an author or character.
- People contain multitudes, and it’s certainly possible for a character/author to be feminist on one page and sexist on another. This doesn’t disqualify the book or author for the purposes of this challenge.
- This challenge is intentionally really, really difficult. So if you find yourself agonizing over whether something counts, just assume it does.
