Overview
I just want to finally read The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer in order, preferably within a single year. Since it’s all technically one book, I’ve split up the prompts into the prologue and individual tales and tried to include editions that only have one tale. You could just mark those editions as read when you finish that particular tale.
Of course, you can actually read one edition of the full text. Just use this challenge page as a way to check off your progress. If you don’t want these editions to count towards your total number of books read for the year, just remove the read dates while keeping the books marked as read.
As for the edition you read, I personally recommend the Norton Chaucer Canterbury Tales edited by David Lawton. I’ve read some tales edited by him before and his annotations and translations were really helpful. I’m adding a bonus prompt where we can add the actual editions we’re reading as a sort of hub for recommendations.
