The Hugo Awards began in 1953. This challenge allows readers to catalogue their progress. In later years, Retro Hugos for novels published before 1953 have also been awarded.

Given the criminal and political controversies associated with certain authors, I have chosen to mark their books as a bonus for completion purposes. It is possible that there are other authors with similar controversies and that I am not aware of them; if I become aware of them at a later date, I will modify this challenge accordingly.
