I teared up reading this book. 

This was so sweet. Really glad to read trans/queer books where the family and friends react with only love. The ghost element was also really well done and I loved it as a way for Bug to figure himself out. I had a very similar realization experience to Bug, although I was a lot older at the time. REALLY related to Bug narrating his like like a character in a book. I also really appreciated the way friendship was represented in this book incidental to Bug, e.g. Moira's friends group who all just seem really nice and normal. It's commented on in the text but you don't really see groups of friends just getting along without conflict in books since that's usually a source of tension.
