"Han is in a better place, if he was saved" That sentence made me cry as I could feel how wrong it is to say. It feels like more of a sin to say something so unempathetic and wrong than anything the bible says (Except for like the big crimes like murder and rape ofc). I have my own experiences with devout extremist Christians, so that made this hit even harder.
It felt truly heartless, which really shows the context of this book as it was only mentioned and not deeply explored by the author. As something this heartless is often times overlooked in the name of religion and sin or no sin.

I think this was a great personal insight to the author and his experiences and thoughts, and would definitely recommend others give it a try.

This was okay, I suppose. I didn't hate it, but I also definitely didn't love it.
It's essentially just a set of loosely connected memoir-esque essays about noteable moments or periods of Zimmerman's life. As I'm not familiar with his comedy (I only picked this book up due to the title and interesting cover) and if it wasn't explicitly noted in the book I would have had no idea this guy was a comedian. I suppose there were a couple parts that were humorous, but having read some fantastic memoirs by other comedians that had me actually laughing out loud (Mindy Kaling, Seth Rogan to name my top two) this was really disappointing. There were some moments of real emotional gravity (#2 as many have pointed out, is deeply moving) but for the most part I was just getting through it.
