A bizarre book. Certainly I haven’t read one like this. Despite the central idea being fairly brilliant, and the main storylines quite interesting, it is really quite a bit of work to follow, and some parts of the book seems honestly superfluous, more gimmicks than something worth reading.
i'm so sure i missed so many things but i did have fun reading this. hard to keep up w at times but i did like reading from multiple unreliable perspectives. will def have to reread at some point

At the end of the day, I can appreciate how meticulously detailed and carefully curated this book is. At the same time, I found it hard to care about at all. It reads like a textbook on the best of days and is utterly incoherent on the worst. Two months from start to finish and I can't wait to never read this one again.

I can't wait to revisit this book in a few months and try to decode all that it is. Reading it straight through gives a feel that something lies below, way below the spiral staircase. Keep reading, keeping looking, keep moving.
