I was skeptical about finishing this for the first 300 pages but I’m glad I stuck with it. It was a little tedious, not scary in the way I expected, and I am pretty sure there was a lot of stuff I missed or that went over my head. But I cannot believe this all just came out of someone’s mind??? It was captivating

It took me four tries in as many years to finish this book.
It is incredibly complicated and sometimes difficult to read (not to mention confusing at times)but the concept is brilliant. The way it is put together is nonetheless different and interesting.
Unlike anything I have ever read before.
I would suggest giving it a try (or tries), it is definitely worth it in the end.
The whole idea of the house itself is very creepy but I loved it. Definitely captures the imagination.
A very original book.

Woah. I think I'm just fundamentally a sucker for this sort of metafiction (see: Pale Fire). Obviously this adds a lot on top with the physicality of it all, which is also cool! Definitely lived up to the trippy hype, and also like I said, I'm a sucker for this sort of thing. Found myself rather shook at a few points, which is cool.

Anyway, it's certainly not for everyone (the top reviews going 5*, 1*, 5*, 1*, 5* is honestly so funny to me), but I liked it quite a bit.
