not exactly deep, but entertaining. Perfect for 4th-5th graders who like silly.

A delightful read aloud for early elementary school age. Silly and sweet with great illustrations.

A most excellent book. Hyenas are under-represented in modern literature and it's good to see an author addressing that and creating relatable hyena characters. Despite occasional stereotyping -e.g. laughing and joke-telling -this is a nice depiction of a regular hyena family integrating into human society. I may even read it to my 9 year old son, so that he grows up with an inclusive attitude towards hyenas.
