This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I loved how the story was presented with the three main points of view. The pacing was great and it was a great thriller who-done-it with many twists throughout the story.
This was my first Steve Cavanagh book and I loved it! This is the fifth book in the Eddie Flynn series, but I read it as a standalone and didn’t feel like there was anything lacking.
Thank you NetGalley for the advance electronic copy of this book! All opinions are my own.

Steve Cavanagh knocked it out of the park in this fast-paced legal thriller. It begins with the jury having made their decision on a murder trial in an unbelievable 48 minutes, followed by the frantic 911 call transcripts that introduce our two suspects. I DEVOURED this book sneaking in time to read before work and staying up late after 12-hour shifts to try to just get a few more pages in. Here’s the premise: two sisters both make a 911call within a minute of each other claiming the other has murdered their father, who happens to be the former mayor of New York City. We get the point of views from Eddie Flynn - Sofia’s lawyer, Kate Brooks who is representing Alexandra and “She” the point of view of the sister who committed the murder. From there the race is on to try to figure out which sister is guilty, and which one is innocent. The twists in this book are fantastic and kept me guessing. When I would decide one sister was guilty, some clue or twist would come along that took me back to having no idea! I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, but this book is able to be read as a standalone. I didn’t feel I was missing anything or confused from not reading the previous books. This book was a solid 5 star read, and has me ready to read the previous books, just to get more of Steve Cavanagh’s fantastic writing and stay in Eddie Flynn’s world a little longer.
Thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books for the digital arc of this phenomenal book!

Eddie Flynn is back and on a new case. This time, Eddie is called after the murder of the former mayor of New York is murdered and the suspect is one of, if not both, of his daughters. Alexandra is the daughter that has her life together. Sofia is the daughter with addiction and mental health issues. Both daughters have had a rough past and they hate each other. Both doted on their father until he was murdered. Both are also highly highly suspicious and likely highly skilled at lying. So which one murdered their father? The way Eddie sees it there’s a fifty fifty chance.
This series truly gets better and better with each book. So now I have a new favorite. Quick, fun reads with lots of twists and turns to keep you guessing.
Thank you NetGalley and Atria Books for this ARC! On to the next one!

I have read all of the Eddie Flynn series in order (excluding the Devil's Advocate which I am yet to read) and have noticed each one slowly becoming better, this is not to say that I didn't majorly enjoy the earlier books too. Fifty Fifty is definitely my favourite in the series so far, including Thirteen which seems to be thought of as his best book.
