Sarah gives us an account of relatively few years of her life but it feels like we got to know her completely. Not only does she frankly and emotionally recount her experience coming out as trans, we get her perspective into advocacy, love, and devastating loss. She provides such succinct answers to questions about trans identity that i wish i hd a physical copy so i could highlight. I would, however, absolutely recommend the audiobook as she narrates it herself and part of the reason I enjoyed it so much was her voice and all of the authenticity in it.
There aren’t many people who can produce such a whole-feeling biography at such a young age but Sarah pulls it off well.

Sarah McBride's personal story of being transgender, coming out, and finding love is combined with her political journey and the fight for trans rights. She is inspiring.

Such a powerful memoir that everyone needs to read. I cried a lot more than i anticipated and this will forever be a book i recommend.

a fantastic read for anyone of all ages, a crash course in being trans while also telling a universally human story about love.

Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your story with us! I got misty-eyed several times during the "love" and "fight for trans equality" parts...the parts that showed hated and the parts that celebrated triumphs. Then I outright cried at the "loss" parts. So many emotions.
