I'm not American, so I'm not sure why I was given this book in the first place, since it's deeply entrenched in American politics. But Sarah seems nice, and I empathised with her struggles, and this book was educational about the state of trans rights pre-2018. The rating is almost entirely for the chapters about Sarah's personal life.

This book had me in tears, laughing, and everything in between. I feel so much more informed, and inspired. We have a long way to go.

In case you didn't read the summary, Sarah McBride is a transgender woman kicking ass and taking names in the US political landscape. She lost her husband to cancer, which is a horrible tragedy. She keeps going though.
ICYMI, she's one Delaware's representatives in Congress and she's the first transgender congressperson in the US.
This is her story. I'm so glad to have found it.
